Currently there are no stone mills in Marin County, requiring a 200-mile drive each time we pick up freshly milled flour. Once our mobile mill house is built and up and running we will be able to travel to schools, churches, synagogues and farmers markets and mill flour on site. We are especially focused on teaching in underserved schools, demystifying the process of how a grain of wheat becomes a loaf of bread as well as focusing on the farming requirements and nutritional impact of eating whole grains. We call this program Wheat Wednesdays. Eventually, we will be able to provide both flour and reasonably priced, densely nutritious bread to those in our society who need it most to thrive.
