9th annual community harvest

overflowing with gratitude

We are brimming with gratitude after bringing in the harvest. Many hands made for joyful work, and many new friends were made. Our rainy winter resulted in abundant, plump Hourani. In fact, it was a record harvest! Two musical groups were the perfect accompaniment to our work, and we enjoyed fantastic food with a harvest first—Hourani beer!

Keenan Kelsey is a founding Kickstarter donor and Crop Adopt partner. This year, Keenan and her husband Mark, hosted our annual Pre-Harvest dinner for Crop Adopt partners. She surprised us with the little gem, There is More in You Than You Think.

Special thanks to Jen Jones and Mark Squire for warmly welcoming us to Tara Firma Farms; our Crop Adopt Sponsors, Elise Bauer, Marta Benson and Adam Willner, Common Table, Good Earth Natural Foods, Keenan Kelsey, Maggie Kinnaman, The Kirkpatrick Family, Molly Noble, Tina McArthur, The Pierrepont Family, Lydia Ruffin, Anne Wilbur, Chiquita and Bob Woodard and Anonymous; our guest speakers, Chef Joshua Gjersand of Mount Diablo Unified and Chef Christina Lawson of Western Placer Unified; Lydia Ruffin and Estella Brenneman and The Wronglers for the music; Chef Joshua Gjersand for creating the lunch menu and Good Earth Natural Foods and Cowgirl Creamery for providing the wine and cheese; our farmers, Jake Daigle and Luiz Alcatraz for taking care of the soil and wheat; Andrew Atwong and Tiffany Chen for capturing the day with photography; our volunteer Harvest Helpers for your teamwork and to the entire DeRuff Family David, Katherine, Henry, John and Shawn, without whom this event would not be possible.
