come harvest with us!
We have multiple wheat fields this year to harvest! One in West Marin and one in Healdsburg. Both fields are ripening and will be ready to harvest on September 8 and 9, 2018. Chose a date and come join in.
Saturday, September 8th in West Marin at Poncia Family Farm
Sunday, September 9th in Healdsburg at Truett-Hurst Winery
You and your friends and family will have a chance to harvest, thresh, winnow and mill a field of heirloom wheat. Harvesting by hand using a sickle might be a first for some of us! We frequently hear shouts of "It's fun!" from the field, but the connection to the land and the cooperation among the crew is what makes this day truly special - you will also be ready for a well-earned lunch!
We'll move from farm to table to enjoy a delicious farm lunch featuring local organic foods along with Honoré sourdough bread and shortbread cookies baked from last year's harvest. On Sunday, we'll also enjoy wines from Truett-Hurst. After lunch, you can pre-order your supply of flour from either field for your upcoming baking needs.
From children to grandparents, everyone is welcome and needed for the harvest. Lunch is included. Check-in begins at 9:30 and harvesting will begin at 9:45; we will finish about 2:30 pm. You will need sunscreen, a hat, gloves and plenty of water. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
Purchase tickets now and save!
Tickets will be $25 (Saturday) and $30 (Sunday) until Friday, August 25th at noon, and $30 and $35 afterwards.
Special thanks to our host farms, Poncia Family Farm and Truett Hurst Vineyards, for their donation of land for this project. Without them this wouldn't be possible.
And lastly, a special shout-out to Good Earth Market for underwriting our morning snacks; this means that everything served will be 100% organic, in season, and local. Thank you, Good Earth!
